  4. Select the Sign in without a Microsoft Account Link option and click on Local Account.

  5. Enter a user name and leave the password field blank, followed by hitting Next & Finish to finish the account creation process.

  6. Restart the computer and sign in using the new account to access the QBPOS feature.



Solution 2 – Rename the Shell Folder to Fix the QBPOS Folder Damage

  1. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL keys together and head over to the Task Manager to choose the Processes tab.

  2. Right-click the QBPOSShell folder to select End Process and open Windows Explorer.

  3. Go to C:\ Users\ [User Name]\ AppData\ Local and click on the Intuit tab appearing on the screen.

  4. Find QBPOS Shell with .exe extension and right-click the CONFIG file to rename it as CONFIGOLD.
